Deer Tick = Band of Horses
Deer ticks are gross, but this band is not. They are actually quite the opposite. They have an album titled “War Elephant” that I am falling in love with. Reminiscent of Band of Horses, Deer Tick is definitely another solid indie-folk band in my books. Really, really good folk music. There’s actually a documentary about them called Deer Tick: To the City of Sin! coming out in a...

The Old Canes Has a New Album!
I did a post on the Old Canes a couple of weeks ago not realizing that they were coming out with a new album! How could I be such a fool? Yesterday-yes, one day ago-the Old Canes released Feral Harmonic, their second full-length album. I’ve only given it a run through once, and I really like what I hear so far. Sounds similar to their other album that came out in 2004 called Early Morning...

If Modest Mouse and Death Cab had a Child...
I know it sounds crazy, but I have found the band that is a nearly perfect mix of the these two bands. It’s name? Built To Spill The more I listen to their brand spankin’ new album “There is No Enemy,” the more I realize how remarkably similar the singer is to both Death Cab AND Modest Mouse. This combo makes for a great singer, and an amazing album. This album’s...

The Spinto Band
I don’t know how I stumbled across this band, but they are HECKA SICK. A little more upbeat then what I usually listen to, but pretty standard indie pop music nonetheless. Singer goes high, bass and drums are tight, sick tight guitar riffs. A little like Ra Ra Riot and Bishop Allen, both of which are excellent. Nice and Nicely Done is the name of the album I’ve been listening to a lot...

Like violence you have me, forever, and after.
Don’t laugh. I’m listening to Blink-182’s self-titled album right now. It takes me way back. Ah yes, I distinctly remember sitting back in the lower levels blasting “Violence” on my cd player before A-period started. Good times. Gosh I love this cd. Blink-182’s Last.fm page ———>here Buy their self titled album. Hellla good....

The Music of The Tallest Man on Earth!
I’m a sucker for folk music, there’s no denying it. I’ll confess now that there’s this acoustic folk musical genius, known as Kristian Matsson (His band name is The Tallest Man On Earth), who has stolen my heart. His unique voice and crazy guitar and banjo skills leave me speechless as I listen ever so intently. Last.fm ———> Here Myspace...

Great Lake Swimmers has an Excellent Album
They have a self-titled album that I’m really diggin right now. Wonderful vocals backed by a smooth acoustic guitar makes for a perfect indie folk album, and there’s nothing like good indie folk music. I’m seriously about to pop in the ear buds and go study to this music. Get on it, friends. Great Lake Swimmers webiste Their last.fm page

Hey, Do you like the Format?
I enjoy myself some good indie-pop music from time to time, and right now is one of those times.. I’m listening to an album by a band called fun. titled “Aim and Ignite.” If you like the Format (I personally do) you’ll for sure like this band, mostly because the main guy from the Format is the main guy in fun. as well. Seriously this is a sweet album, get it.

Anberlin's new single "True Faith"
Anberlin came out with a new single TODAY titled “true faith.” i’ve downloaded it and i’m listening to it now. My initial thought: “this sounds like a U2 song..” I can’t say that i’m impressed, but they are one of my favorite bands so i will (attempt to) let it grow on me.
